The George M. Hampton Foundation and Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated present the 7th Annual Gene Montague Memorial 5K on Saturday, September 21, from 8:30 am - 11 am at Merchant Park in Dumfries, VA. The Gene Montague 5K is an annual fun run-walk to commemorate the life of Colonel Eugene "Gene" Montague, who was a member of Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
Gene Montague was born in Brooklyn, NY. He was a retired New York City Police Officer and rose to the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Gene passed away on May 22, 2016 in the excitement of doing what he loved to do - staying fit while participating in competitive physical activity, namely, an Ironman competition. This year, proceeds from the Gene Montague Memorial 5K will go toward 2025 scholarships for graduating high school students here in Prince William County.
Race registration is $40 before September 1 and $45 after September 1. PLEASE NOTE: registrations AFTER September 1st are not guaranteed race t-shirts, so please REGISTER EARLY! Also, the race is capped at 300 runners, so again, REGISTER EARLY!
