Keynote Speaker: Retired Army Reserve Colonel & Chaplain Brent Anderson
After a classical education in languages and literature, Colonel Anderson received a second missionary call from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That mission call, to serve as an Army chaplain, had no release date. He served on active duty from 1971-1977. After 24 years of Reserve and National Guard service, he retired with the rank of Colonel.
After active duty, he earned an MBA and then worked 10 years in business strategy, healthcare marketing and new venture creation at Hillenbrand Industries. Since then, his professional focus has been on simplifying systems thinking for leaders and creating and executing effective business strategy. Colonel Anderson has consulted with clients such as General Electric Aircraft Engines, Covey Leadership Center, International Facility Management Association, and various engineering, military, banking and other organizations.
For the last 10 years, Colonel Anderson’s work has focused in Africa, where he mentors leaders who grow businesses that last. With government officials, he consults on producing positive outcomes for their constituents. He has taught business, facility management, languages and humanities at six US and three African universities.
