2nd Annual Tribute to John Coltrane A Love Supreme Saxophone Summit

We are celebrating John Coltrane's Birthday with Coltrane-ist coming to play John Coltrane's music transcribed by Andrew White. Andrew White, saxophonist, musicologist, and "Keeper of Trane", is the world's leading authority on the music of John Coltrane.

In 2018, I commissioned Andrew to write 5 songs of John Coltrane for 10 saxophones and a drummer. Unfortunately, Andrew died in 2019 before he could come on the tour to play his music. These performances will be the “Premiere."

We have Charles McNeal leading the group, Lyle Link, Dave Salvator, Jared Cruz, Doug Rowan, Dan Gonda, Jayn Pettingill, Steven Nelson, Michael Young, Bob Kenmotsu and Deszon Claiborne on Drums…

Erik Jekabson will lead the Community Play Along and is inviting Music Teachers with Students, Professionals and Music students to learn 3 songs (Impressions, Giant Step and African Brass) to come play for the Community. We have Laura Klein (Piano), Mike Quigg (Drum), and Arthur Chico Lopez (bass) to accompany the Community Play Along.
