Emmett Hughes is a singer, songwriter and performer based in Huntington, New York. His songs are influenced by symphonic music, Motown, rock, jazz, world music and reggae. It is positive, sincere and deeply personal, reflecting on the emotional ups and downs of life and how challenges can lead to deeper understanding.

A multi-instrumentalist, Emmett sings, plays guitar, bass, and keyboards. He’s been playing live since the late 1970’s with a variety of original and cover bands. The Emmett Hughes Band features top local musicians and plays mostly locally in and around the New York City metro area.

Sixty Trips Around the Sun, his debut album, written, recorded and arranged by Emmett, is a deep dive into life’s offerings. His second album, The Third Degree, was recently released and asks the hard questions about sustaining relationships.

In the past year, the Emmett Hughes Band has performed in the New York metro area, as well as a short tour in the UK and multiple music festivals in the Northeast US.  Emmett is working on his third album, writing and recording with his bandmates.
