Celebrate our nation’s independence with old fashioned family fun! Visit Historic Richmond Town over Independence Day Celebration for a day of special programming and events. Meet costumed interpreters and founding fathers and mothers, sign your name to a copy of the Declaration of Independence, enjoy demonstrations of 19th century fireworks, food, patriotic music and MORE!

New York City’s living history village is the perfect backdrop for an educational and inspirational observation of American Independence.

The days activities will include living history demonstrations in village houses and shops, including hearth cooking in the Guyon-Lake-Tysen House, Tin Shop, blacksmithing area, Carpenter’s Shop, Kruser-Finley House, and more.

Experience the Revolutionary War encampment where living historians will ask you if you want to sign loyalty oaths to the King. If you’re a patriot, you can join us at the General Store to sign the Declaration of Independence.

On the steps of the 3rd County Courthouse, the Declaration will be read aloud, preceded by a parade to the steps.
