After many years as a professional cellist Laurel added a new passion– that of a Book Artist. As a book artist for the past 15 years, her books range from traditional hand-sewn books to unique works of art. Laurel’s art education started with years of paper making and followed by courses at The Bennet School, Mass Art, MFA, Brookline Art Center, Snow Farm, classes by Tonya Lemos and online courses. Laurel most recently added knowledge of cyanotype and eco-printing. She has shown at gallery exhibitions nationally and participates in local craft fairs. Her aims are to explore the boundary of book space and uses her musical background as inspiration in art projects.
