The City of Franklin will host The Jim Mears Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 10 AM.
Jim Mears passed in 2023. He served the City of Franklin on many boards and commissions including City Council and as Mayor. He was a proud Army veteran and was dedicated to honoring and serving his fellow veterans. The Memorial Day parade in Franklin was organized and executed by Jim for over 45 years before his passing. The City of Franklin is undoubtedly a better place because of Jim's passionate service to our community. For these reasons, from the years 2024 to 2034, the Memorial Day Parade shall be known as The Jim Mears Memorial Day Parade.
This year we will pay tribute to all Vietnam Veterans on the 50th anniversary of the end of the conflict. We would be honored to have Vietnam Veterans or their families join us in the parade. Let’s come together as a community to recognize their service and sacrifice.
The parade will start on Main Street at Franklin Yards, travel down Main to Third Street as it ends with a ceremony at the corner of Third & Main.
