Join Us for the Wauconda Memorial Day Parade!
The Wauconda Memorial Day Parade is the largest Memorial Day Parade in Lake County.
Attire:
Cheerleaders will receive a t-shirt upon check-in - black pants or shorts, weather pending.
Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required.
Drop-off Instructions:
The drop-off time has been updated to between 9:00 and 9:15 AM.
Main Street closes at 9:30 AM, so please ensure your child arrives by 9:15 AM at the latest.
Although we usually meet in the high school parking lot, this location is subject to change. Officials will direct you at each lot.
Pick-up Instructions:
If you are not walking with us, please pick up your child at the end of the parade at Memorial Park, near the Federated Church and the Wauconda Police Department.
Additional Notes for Walking Parents:
If you are walking with us and bringing other children, we recommend bringing wagons.
The WBC does not provide candy. If you wish to distribute candy, please bring your own supply.
Note that this is a long parade, and it is common to run out of candy before passing Citgo. Wagons for carrying candy are also recommended.
We will do our best to accommodate all children in 2nd grade and under on the beds of trucks donated by our generous sponsors.
No candy throwing is allowed from the trucks.
Parade Details:
The parade steps off at 10:00 AM, but we are positioned towards the end, so there will be a significant wait time after drop-off until we begin walking.
Please plan accordingly for your child's needs during the wait time.
If your child is not walking with a parent, any items they have will need to be carried throughout the parade.
The parade typically concludes around 11:00/11:30 AM.
