Our festival showcases films that resonate with wholesome values and grassroots undertones, highlighting stories that are rarely told elsewhere. Each film is carefully selected to reflect the spirit of our community and the authenticity of independent cinema.

Whether you're an aspiring filmmaker, a devoted moviegoer, or a supporter of the arts, NoID Film Festival offers an unforgettable experience filled with passion, creativity, and community.

Schedule of Events:

9:00am - 11:00am: Early Check-in

Kickoff your time with us by picking up your VIP Pass and swag bag at our designated hangout spot before each screening.

12:00pm - 7:30pm: Late Check-in

Purchase your tickets before the screening! If you're a VIP and couldn't make it to early check-in for your VIP pass and swag bag, we'll have it ready for you.

12:00pm: Unega: Tales of the Guardians

Unega Mountain Dog Rescue, a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Bellevue, Idaho - works to rehabilitate and rescue Great Pyrenees Mountain Dogs and other livestock guardian dogs in Blaine County. The way the laws are written in Idaho allows for cases of animal abuse to go unpunished and allows for the mistreatment of the dogs, particularly in the sheep ranching industry. Tiffany Larson and her team at Unega Mountain Dog Rescue are working to change the laws to protect the livestock guardian dogs and get their legal classification changed in Idaho while making themselves a resource for ranchers.

12:30pm: Documentary Short Films

Peace in the Battle - In the face of over 300,000 annual childhood cancer diagnoses, fear and suffering weigh heavily on those who strive to take the burden off of their child.

Success: A Race to Alaska - Four Idaho sailors battle the elements in the legendary Race to Alaska aboard a small sailing vessel as they attempt the notorious Seymour Narrows, Cape Caution, and Hecate Strait. Along the way, as they race to bring awareness to a worthy cause, they are forced to reconsider the meaning of failure and success.

Where Was God in Uvalde? - Filmmaker Eli Steele visits Ulvade, TX, one month after the school shooting. How does one make sense out of the senseless shooting that claimed so many innocent lives?

2:00pm: Man Vs Phone

A frustrated artist/activist/office assistant, unemployed and isolated due to the Covid-19 pandemic, becomes increasingly reliant on his cell phone. However, when it uses smart locks and blackmail to trap him inside his small garage apartment, he must figure out how to escape by outsmarting his smartphone.

Wild World of Frolf - Frolfers are a unique species, filled with quirks and exciting behaviors. This nature film explores these peculiar folks who engage in Frisbee Golf.

2:30pm: Regional Short Films

The Opening - Part poem, part visionary fiction, part cinematic podcast - this "Provocumentary" film follows the aftermath of a huge mysterious hole appearing in the sky. Some people see it as the end of times, some as a means of exploitation, but others come to understand "The Opening" as an invitation to a new way of understanding life itself.

Kenai River King - Welcome to "Kenai River King!" An award-winning 6-minute documentary that explores the authentic and rugged spirit of my 71-year-old Grandpa John Allen. Set against the majestic backdrop of Alaska, this film delves into the essence of a man who embodies the true spirit of the Last Frontier. Accompany him through his daily life, living on the Kenai River. Where you observe John's love for working on vintage cars, fishing on the iconic Kenai River, and the simple yet meaningful act of chopping wood for a cozy campfire. Join us as we immerse ourselves in the captivating world of John Allen, a man who teaches us that happiness can be found in the simplicity of everyday life.

The Tin Woods - While exploring an abandoned cabin, the Tin Woodman finds…his original head? Based on the original Oz books by L. Frank Baum, this short stop-motion film explores the origins of the Tin Woodman and how he came to be made of tin.

The Shape of Trees - A momentary encounter with elusive filmmaker Terrence Malick forever alters Jack's life path, and his perception of reality… This dark comedy, the debut short film by Willie & Jamie Wittezehler, explores how the stories we tell can ground our sense of identity while simultaneously drawing us too deeply into Narcissus' pond.

The Road We Take - They say that our choices define us. But what about choices that aren't really choices? A lone bounty hunter transports her quarry through a post-societal landscape, wrestling with the choices in front of her.

4:30pm: The Grand Salmon

The Grand Salmon is an environmental documentary following the journey of three women who paddled 1,000 miles to recreate the journey wild salmon make each year to the Pacific Ocean. With eight dams along the way, these women experience why salmon populations are dwindling and explore what must be done to bring them back from the brink of collapse.

5:00pm: Idaho Short Films

Experience the best of Idaho's filmmaking talent at the NoID 2024 Film Festival! Our Idaho Made Films block showcases a diverse selection of short films created by local filmmakers, each telling unique and compelling stories that capture the essence of life in the Gem State.

After enjoying these inspiring shorts, you'll have the opportunity to vote for your favorite, helping to determine which filmmaker will take home the coveted Attendees' Choice Award. Your vote makes a difference, so be sure to stay until the end and cast your ballot to support Idaho's best!

Cold Glory
Take One - Camera rolling. Sound speeding. Action.
Planted - A sixteen-year-old girl discovers she is pregnant and in her turmoil, confides in her grandmother who revisits old memories from a painful past.
Deep Into Hell - We follow a girl through the stages of becoming a sex trafficking victim. Starting with a simple message over social media eventually leads her to abandoning her family and friends.
John Thick - In this parody of John Wick, An overweight assassin is attacked in his own home as several goons break in to steal his last donut.

7:30pm: I Voted

A group of strangers can't help but talk politics when they undergo a lockdown at their polling location just as they are about to cast their vote during a tense presidential election.

Us, Together, Alone - Milo and Ollie, half brothers, realize that loyalty and devotion can have horrendous results.
