Trail running at its most fun and toughest, OPSF50|50 runs through beautiful and rugged Owen-Putnam State Forest just one hour west of Indianapolis. This course is the toughest in Indiana with over 4500 elevation gain over 50 kilometers. Come tough it out and have some fun too!
Schedule:
50-Mile/50K Race Start: Saturday, 7:00 a.m.
14-Mile Race Start: Saturday, 9:30a.m.
10K Race Start: Saturday, 10:00a.m.
Course Info:
The course is best described as rugged. Year round natural springs keep the course muddy in spots. That means that even dry conditions will have mud. The course is single track, horse trails, and a little fire road mixed in. The course is a lollipop: Start/Finish to Aid A is the “stick” and a loop from Aid A through Aid B and back to Aid A is the delicious “pop”. Aid A to the Start/Finish completes the lollipop.
The 50-Mile runners will run out the lollipop counter clockwise, do two “pops”, and then return to the Start/Finish, and then two more complete “Lollipop” loops to complete the 50-mile course (~50.6 miles)
The 50K runners will run out the lollipop counter clockwise, do two “pops”, and then return to the Start/Finish. 50 kilometer runners will then do a counter clockwise lollipop with a truncated “pop”.
14-mile runners do one counter-clockwise lollipop. Yum!
10K runners also complete one counter-clockwise loop.
