Selichot is the service that begins the High Holy Days. It is held the Saturday night before Rosh Hashanah. It will be held at Temple Israel in Alameda on Saturday, September 28, beginning with a reception at 7 pm, with the service following.

It is free to attend, however, attendees must register in advance. Registration provides a parking pass, childcare during select services, and additional information about the schedule and service leaders.

For the complete service schedule and to register for services in-person or on Zoom, visit www.templeisraelalameda.org/high-holy-days. Enrollment is now open for children to attend Temple Israel’s religious and Hebrew school, which began on Sunday, September 8th. This is a great Jewish education opportunity for your child(ren).Temple membership is required with enrollment. Membership and the school application are both on the temple’s website www.templeisraelalameda.org.
