Veteran singer-songwriters Patty Larkin and Lucy Kaplansky, unite under the stars.

Patty Larkin - A visionary in contemporary folk music, Patty Larkin is celebrated for her masterful guitar playing, soulful vocals, and poetic lyricism. Over the past three decades, she has captivated audiences with her ability to blend folk, rock, jazz, and blues into a sound that is uniquely her own. Described as “riveting” by the Chicago Tribune and “drop-dead brilliant” by Performing Songwriter, Patty has released 14 critically acclaimed albums. Her latest project, Bird in a Cage, transforms poetry from celebrated writers and poet laureates into hauntingly beautiful musical pieces. She has collaborated with luminaries like Shawn Colvin, Bruce Cockburn, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Rosanne Cash, as well as Lucy Kaplansky, earning a devoted following for her intricate guitar work and emotionally rich storytelling. Whether performing solo or weaving harmonies with other artists, Patty continues to push the boundaries of folk music with innovation and heart.

Lucy Kaplansky - A beloved singer-songwriter with a voice that blends warmth and clarity, Lucy Kaplansky has been a fixture in the folk and Americana world for decades. Raised in Chicago, she first made waves in New York City’s Greenwich Village folk scene, collaborating with artists like Shawn Colvin, Richard Shindell, and Nanci Griffith. Though she briefly stepped away from music to earn a PhD in Clinical Psychology, Lucy’s passion for songwriting drew her back, leading to a string of acclaimed albums, including Ten Year Night, one of Red House Records’ best-selling releases. A founding member of the folk supergroup Cry Cry Cry, her music is deeply personal yet universally resonant, often reflecting on themes of love, family, and connection. In January 2025, Lucy released her tenth album, The Lucy Story, a collection of mostly unreleased tracks that form a retrospective/history of her musical life, from her bedroom at age 16, all the way to major venues, clubs and recording studios across the U.S. and Europe and became part of an incredible, unique community of singers, songwriters and musicians centered around Folk City in Greenwich Village.
