Honor our Super Hero Cancer Survivors! Proceeds will provide assistance, support and resources for the patients of Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center.

The 2024 Super Hero 5K/Kids Fun Run/Walk, hosted by Owensboro Health Foundation and Owensboro Health Healthpark, is a community event with three features: a 5K Race, a Kids Fun Run, and a Super Hero Walk. 

Deadlines: The online registration deadline for all events is Thursday, Sept. 26 at noon. Individuals may also register in-person on Sept. 28 by 7:15 a.m. for the 5K Race and by 8:45 a.m. for the Kids Fun Run.

Schedule

7:30 a.m. – 5K Race

9 a.m. – Kids Fun Run (Free!) 

9:45 a.m. (approx.)– Awards for 5K Race and Kids Fun Run prize drawings 

9:30 to 10:30 a.m. – Super Hero Walk Check-in and Survivor Check-in 

10:30 a.m. – Opening Ceremonies for Super Hero Walk and Survivor Parade 

11 a.m. – Start of Super Hero Walk (1st lap is Survivor Parade, 2nd lap is Caregiver Lap, 3rd lap is a Memory Lap) 

8 a.m. to Noon – Music, Food, Kids’ Activities & Games, Super Heroes! Dress up as your favorite Super Hero if you like!

5K Race – $25 early bird entry fee by September 1, $35 after September 1.

Kids Fun Run – FREE! The first 200 kids registered receive a t-shirt and medal. Drawings will be held for children’s bicycles & helmets and a $500 wellness grant will be given to a local school. (School must be a 501(c)3 tax exempt school).

Super Hero Walk – this is a team event honoring our Super Hero Survivors. Entry fee is $25 per team member. No limit to the amount of members per team. Each team is asked (not required) to raise at least $500 in addition to the entry fee to help support programs and resources for cancer patients at Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center. Teams may participate in honor or in memory of loved ones, co-workers, or friends. The first lap will be for cancer survivors, the second lap will be in honor of caregivers, and the third lap will pay tribute to those we have lost. Survivors will be honored at the walk.

Prizes will be awarded for each event, and top fundraising individual and team. All registered participants will receive an event T-shirt and will enjoy music, children’s activities, food and beverages and more! Dress as your favorite super hero!
