The Norwalk Historical Society invites you to a compelling Author Talk & Book Signing with Carolyn Ivanoff on her latest historical work, "We Fought at Gettysburg", taking place on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Mill Hill Historic Park – Town House, 2 East Wall Street, Norwalk, CT.
Admission is FREE, but registration is required – bit.ly/4nNfw1k.
In "We Fought at Gettysburg", Carolyn Ivanoff presents powerful and poignant first-hand accounts from the men of the 17th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry Regiment, composed largely of Fairfield County residents, including many from Norwalk. Through original letters and personal writings, these soldiers recount—in their own words—the harrowing experiences of the Gettysburg Campaign in June and July of 1863. Their reflections offer an intimate glimpse into the chaos of battle, the trauma of combat, and the enduring human spirit.
Join us as Ivanoff shares these rare and moving narratives, honoring the legacy of local heroes who witnessed one of the most pivotal battles in American history.
Books will be available for purchase, and refreshments will be served following the presentation.
This event is hosted by the Norwalk Historical Society as part of its ongoing mission to preserve and share the rich history of Norwalk and the surrounding region through educational programs, exhibitions, and events that engage the community with its past. The Norwalk Historical Society is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
