Through the community's support, Perkins McKenzie Insurance Agency officially awarded a $10,000 donation to Club Blue Baton Rouge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana and providing leadership and volunteer opportunities to young professionals who aspire to positively impact youth.
The $10,000 donation will provide essential school supplies for an entire Boys & Girls Club site and fund a summer filled with enriching science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities.
Perkins McKenzie Insurance Agency originally received a $5,000 donation for Club Blue Baton Rouge thanks to a submission process with Liberty Mutual® and Safeco Insurance® through their 2025 Make More Happen™ Awards. A story of their local partnership was featured on the official Make More Happen microsite, www.agentgiving.com/creating-moments-with-mentors-that-help-kids-succeed/, where Perkins McKenzie Insurance Agency had the opportunity to raise an additional $5,000 by conducting a local awareness campaign for the nonprofit. Together with the community, the goal was met, increasing the total donation to $10,000 for Club Blue Baton Rouge.
“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said John Christopher Watkins, Liberty Mutual Senior Territory Manager. “Perkins McKenzie Insurance Agency is an outstanding example of how agencies can make a real difference, and we hope sharing their story inspires others to give back as well.”
Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.
