7:30pm: Brian Charette and Lisa Liu make their Provincetown Jazz Festival debuts!

Brian Charette

Brian Charette from New York City is a Hammond Endorsed Cellar Live recording artist currently 3rd on the Downbeat Critic's Poll for organ. Brian was also the 2014 Downbeat Rising Star and Hot House Magazine's 2015 best organist in New York. Charette has a funky organ style steeped in tradition but with a lot of modern swag. He will be joined with his regular drummer, Jordan Young and Ryder Corey on sax, both making their festival debuts.

Lisa Liu

Lisa Liu will open the concert and is a guitarist based in Brooklyn, NY and she teaches online and on TrueFire, and is also a teaching Artist at the Django In June Festival. Lisa has played with jazz luminaries Mimi Fox, Samy Daussat, Sam Newsome and performed at the Django Reinhardt Festival (France), Broadway in Six The Musical, (NYC), The Rocky Mountain Archtop Festival (CO), Djangofest Northwest (WA), The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery (Washington, D.C.), Academy of Music (MA), Joe's Pub (NYC), and many more venues. Lisa will be accompanied by Ron Ormsby on bass and Bart Weisman on drums.

7:30pm: Lou Colombo and Louis Prima Tributes

Lou Colombo Tribute

Lori Colombo (vocals) is the daughter of the renowned jazz trumpeter Lou Colombo (1927 - 2012) and presents a tribute to her father who appeared at the Provincetown Jazz Festival in 2007. Lori returned to her home on Cape Cod in 2006 from California where she performed with Billie Holiday’s West Coast Band and opened for Windham Hill artist, George Winston, at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Lori has performed at local restaurants, concerts and events throughout New England and  has opened for the Boston Pops and appeared at Summer Jazz Series at Chatham’s Wequassett Resort and the Provincetown Jazz Festival. Lori is fluent in Italian and while residing in Italy recorded with producer Franco Migliacci, best known for his hit “Volare.” Steeped musically in the tradition of the Jazz classics, Lori’s first love is the Great American Songbook and American Standards.  Lori will be accompanied by the Cape Cod Jazz Quartet with Steve Ahern on trumpet, Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums.

Louis Prima Tribute

The concert opens with a Louis Prima Tribute, a salute to “The King of Swing” with Steve Ahern on trumpet, Dennis Flaherty on vocals & Matt Hutchinson on piano who are both making their festival debuts, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums.

6:00pm: Zahili Gonzalez Zamora and Steve Hambleton make their Provincetown Jazz Festival debuts!

Zahili Gonzalez Zamora

Zahili Gonzalez Zamora (piano & vocals) was born in Cuba and started playing the piano at the age of six. After graduating with a classical piano performance diploma from the National School of Music in Havana, Zahili performed professionally with traditional Cuban bands. In 2002 she moved to Canada and became acquainted with other genres of music. After releasing her debut album, Zahili has appeared at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Montreal International Jazz Festival, Celebrity Series of Boston, and other venues and festivals across New England. Zahili will be accompanied by Ron Ormsby on bass and Bart Weisman on drums.

Steve Hambleton

Steve Hambleton (guitar) will open the concert with his Smooth Jazz arrangements. For the past fourteen years Steve has performed Smooth Jazz from Provincetown to Plymouth at Concerts, Events, and Restaurant. Steve will be accompanied by Ron Ormsby on bass and Bart Weisman on drums.
