From: Town Of TrumbullOn Monday, December 12, 2022 at 2:30 p.m., the Trumbull Police conducted a promotional ceremony for Timothy Fedor and Brian Federowicz to the rank of Sergeant. This ceremony was held in a brief ceremony hosted by officials at the Trumbull Town Hall Council Chambers (5866 Main St. Trumbull, CT 06611).
Sergeant Fedor joined the Trumbull Police Department in March of 2001 after working for the State of Connecticut, Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer. He was assigned to the Patrol Division responding to calls for service. It was not long before he became a Youth Officer and was assigned to the Trumbull Board of Education as a School Resource Officer (SRO). After several years as an SRO, Sergeant Fedor was assigned to the Detective Bureau as a temporary detective where his duties included investigations into a variety of criminal complaints. Sergeant Fedor is currently assigned to the Training and Community Resource Division overseeing the training requirements for every sworn officer and civilian employee.
Along with his regular duties at the Trumbull Police Department, Sergeant Fedor is a police instructor, assistant team leader and tactical medic on the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team, and adjunct instructor for municipal police academies.
Sergeant Fedor is a lead Instructor and coordinator for tactical based training. Sergeant Fedor is currently serving as the President of the Fairfield County Police Training Officer Association and is a past director of the Northeast Regional Law Enforcement Educational Association which included overseeing the operation of police cadet programs throughout New England and New York.
Sergeant Fedor holds an M.A. in Criminal Justice from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield and represents the law enforcement community on many committees throughout the nation and state. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Criminal Justice from Keiser University in Florida.
Sergeant Fedor has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions for his work in the field of Criminal Justice and most notably was the recipient of the United States Attorney’s Community Policing Award.
Sergeant Brian Federowicz has been a member of the Trumbull Police Department since June of 2014 and was most recently assigned as an officer in the Patrol Division. He is a Field Training Officer (FTO), a member of the Southwest Regional Emergency Response Team, a firearms instructor, and was a School Resource Officer for two years where he was assigned to Madison Middle School and also Hillcrest Middle School. Sergeant Federowicz obtained a bachelor’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University.
Both officers are expected to take on new assignments in their ranks of sergeant. Sergeant Fedor will remaining in the Training Division, and Sergeant Federowicz will take on a role as a Patrol shift supervisor.
The Trumbull Police Department currently has an authorized force of eighty-two (82) officers, but is working to fill fourteen (14) vacant positions to attain a full staff.
