“Build It Together: Co-Creating Aerial Learning Environments” with Jackie Beth Shilcutt

Want to build class environments designed for the learners present that inspire growth while attending to safety? This Activist Approach workshop is designed to walk participants through building a foundation with aerial students to help co-create learning environments that attend to physical and emotional safety. By inquiring with students about their perspectives, teachers and learners can help co-design educational settings that connect with students’ interests, motivations, and learning needs. This information can help the group discover what could help their learning processes, as well as identify and negotiate barriers to their activity enjoyment and engagement. Workshop participants will experience ways to build a foundation for aerial classes, as well as how to co-create “ways of working” with the students to support their learning.

“Creativity Toolbox” with Nancy Smith

In this fun hands-on workshop, we’ll ponder and answer these questions:

What is a toolbox for creativity and why have one?
What is inspiration and where does it come from?
What do you mean by creativity? What if I’m not creative?
We’ll work with tools for sourcing, changing perspective, thinking outside of the box, and
getting unstuck. Everyone will leave feeling energized and more awake to the world inside and outside from which to draw inspira%on, as well as the beginnings of your personal toolbox!
No movement or arts experience required, just a willingness to be open to explore.
