Wooly Adventures
Wooly Adventures hosts sheep-themed crafts and beginning fiber arts projects for the young and the young at heart. Discover how wool is transformed into yarn, cloth, or felt with one of our make and takes or by weaving on our community looms. Free to all and fun for ages four to ninety-four.

Competition - Wool Show with Letty Klein
Letty Klein wades through fleece after fleece to determine which one takes home the blue ribbon. Listen in on her comments to get a leg up on which ones you’ll want to take home once the sale begins.

Skeins and Textiles Judging
Handspun yarn and knitted, crocheted, felted, or woven garments and textiles are judged for their quality and craftsmanship. Judge Shelia January will pin yellow, red, and blue ribbons on these handmade items this year.

Make It With Wool is a sewing competition, scholarship opportunity, and growth opportunity where we are inspired by the beauty and diversity of the world around us. Watch as this year’s competitors show off their work on the Leber Garden Stage!

The Black Sheep Brass Band will have you stomping your hooves, er, feet! Their unique sound is a mixture of funk, soul, New Orleans second line style, rhythm and rhymes, and original jams.

Teams of eight competitors card, spin, ply, and weave fleece into a shawl while the clock is ticking. Will all of the teams complete a shawl in time? Join us to watch this growing spectator sport. Shelia January will determine the winner of the Fairgrounds Division before crowning a Grand Champion. Judging begins around 3PM.

How do you tell a good sheep from a bad one? What makes a sheep a champion? Judge Maria Rooney will offer her insight in the show ring. Learn about the qualities shepherds look for to improve their flocks as primitive, meat, and modern wool breeds show off their best in the ring. Watch for the finale when two sheep are selected as Supreme Champions over all the sheep in the show.
