1st Place – $100    2nd Place – $75   3rd Place – $50
Judges will rate on dress, rhythm, steps and turns
Contest will be two dances – one upbeat and one slow.
Only contestants will be on the dance floor during the contest.
Easy to enter: Sign up at the dance floor before the contest!

7:15pm Big Jordan Band

Whether you’re looking for a unique original red dirt band or a high-energy party band, “It’s always a party with Big Jordan,” playing Country, Blues, and Classic Rock, and they can mix it up a bit! With an extensive catalog of songs, you are sure to be entertained.

9:45pm Wayne toups Band

The evening is headlined by Louisiana and Gulf Coast Museum’s Hall of Fame member Wayne Toups who takes the stage at 9:45 pm. Toups is one of most commercially successful American Cajun Singers of all time with a career highlighted at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards in 2013. He returns with his unique brand of Cajun, Zydeco, R&B, and Rock music. Wayne, the Cajun Springsteen, has toured the world to include 26 countries. He has played the New Orleans Jazz Festival for 27 consecutive years. He performed at the 1990 Super Bowl. He always has a home here at Crystal Beach

11:00am Wiener Dog Races at Crystal Beach

Join the FUN and enter your wiener dog in the Texas Crab Festival Wiener Dog Races. This is an annual event at the crab festival and is a huge crowd-pleaser.

No Race Entry Fee:
(does not include entry to the festival)

Check-In between 9:45 AM – 10:30 AM. No dogs will be allowed to register or check-in after 10:30 AM so that brackets and heats can be finalized. Late arrivals will not be allowed to race after the 10:30 AM time.

8:00am 5K / 1K / 0.0K Crab Run at Fort Travis Park

The 2024 Texas Crab Festival 5K/1K/0.0K Fun Run kicks off Saturday, May 11 at 8:00 a.m. Fort Travis Seashore Park is located at 900 State Hwy 87 in Port Bolivar, a little over a mile from the Port Bolivar Ferry Landing. Wear your craziest crab costume for a chance to win a prize

Completed in 1899, Fort Travis features sweeping views of the gulf and bay, Galveston Island, and the 1872 Bolivar Point Lighthouse. The paved course will take runners along an elevated seawall and grounds that pass historic military bunkers, the shipping lanes of Bolivar Roads, and grassy marshlands teeming with shorebirds.

Texas Crab Festival Gumbo Cook
Keeping the “Crab” in the Crab Festival
Only $25 Entry fee per gumbo team
(registration limited to the first 10 teams)

We are looking for anyone and everyone to enter this year’s Charity Gumbo Cookoff. In keeping with the theme of the Festival, all entries will contain crab. The Gumbo Cookoff will feature a People’s Choice award along with winners selected by a panel of judges. Each team will be given a cooking area; all teams are responsible for bringing their own supplies for cooking. The Texas Crab Festival will provide sampling cups, napkins and judges’ sampling cups. Trophies and Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place.

Music:

Galveston Ukulele Society (Noon) is a social group based on the common love of the ukulele. They love sharing aloha through song and welcome all visitors to sing along. GUS-togethers focus on sharing songs. Come enjoy the magical sound of the ukulele, perfect for visitors of all ages.

1:45pm Way Switch

Returning to the Texas Crab Festival is 3 Way Switch taking the stage at 1:45. After a brief break, the band is back as one of the most popular bands on the local music scene. If you’re a fan of the 60’s and 70’s music genres of Rock & Roll, R&B, and Country pop then you’ll love this band. Band includes lead singer and guitarist T. Bruce Haire, Shelby Collins on saxophone, Gayle Sheffield on harmonica, John Rabalais on lead guitar and vocals, Rod Savell on percussions, and Eddie Leblanc on bass. The band’s name Three Way Switch was derived from their alternating mix of the three genres they are known for, along with some original tunes, “Angel Like You”, “Gretchen” and “Until I Get Home To You”, on one of their three albums.

4:00pm Little Comic

Little Comic , is an aspiring hip hop/pop artist. He is incredibly talented, at 10 years old he already has a growing fan base on social media, has released original music on all DSP, can play drums, bass, piano and guitar and has opened up for Texas rap legends ZRO and Lil Keke.

5:30pm David Joel

Beaumont favorite David Joel returns to the Texas Crab Festival at 5:30 pm. David first picked up a guitar at the age of 9. With hard work, persistence, and a little divine intervention, he launched his music career. Having played fairs and festivals, clubs, bars, restaurants and casinos, David’s musical talents, high energy and friendly outgoing personality keep his audiences entertained and kicking up their heels. The good-looking, country rocker will never fail to get the party started and keep it going all night.

7:45pm Texas Flood

At 7:45 pm, Tommy Katona and Texas Flood have become one of the premier blues bands in all of North Texas. Evolving from the original tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Texas Flood pays tribute to the legends as well as the future of the blues through their own music and style. With an in-your-face show and raw high energy playing Tommy Katona takes the listener on a journey through the blues.

10:00pm Roger Creager

And headlining the 2024 Texas Crab Festival is none other than the award winning Roger Creager at 10:00 pm. Creager is an adventurist; he does not like to sit still while the world passes by. Whether it’s climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, jumping off his boat to snorkel with wild dolphins, snow skiing in the Rockies, catching tuna 100 miles from shore, piloting his airplane to far-off concerts, spear-fishing around oil rigs, scuba diving coral reefs, surfing in Costa Rica, or playing music through the Italian countryside, he tries to get the most out of what the world has to offer. All of this finds its way into Roger’s music and live shows. His passion for life invigorates everyone around him including his fan base. Those who get hooked on his charisma and high energy come back show after show, year after year, and record after record.

2:00pm Scavenger Hunt at Festival park

The Texas Crab Festival Scavenger Hunt is just around the corner…or behind the trailer…or under the table. Enter yourself or your team to be the big winner! Cash prizes are awarded. It’s a great event for the whole family as you explore the Festival. Admission to the Festival is Free on Sunday.

The Scavenger Hunt starts at 2:00 pm. Follow the given clues to find all the treasures on the festival grounds.

No need to pre-register, just show up near the T-Shirt Booth around 1:30 on Sunday. May the odds be ever in your favor

Music:

Kicking off Sunday entertainment at Noon, ‘Coastline at LSCPA’ is the most visible performing ensemble within the Lamar State College Port Arthur Commercial Music, Visual and Performing Arts Department. The group has regular bookings on campus and throughout the Golden Triangle. Past performances include The South Texas State Fair, Logon Café, Madison’s, Dylan’s, The Nederland Heritage Festival, Riverfest, and the Groves Pecan Festival. Directed by Commercial Music Instructor Carl Richardson, they perform a variety of genres ranging from country, rock and roll, blues, pop, and jazz.

2:00pm La Mentira NOrtena

Norteño Band Founded in 2016. Based In Houston Texas, they have traveled all over the US to provide Clients with their great Music. 6 Artists Including Martin as the singer, Daniel as the Sound Engineer, Noel as Accordeonist, Juan as Bajosextero, Antonio as Drummer, and Enrique as Bass Player.

4:00pm Cajun Blend

Cajun Blend (4:00 pm) is a 4-piece band with Jason Deleon on accordion. In 1996 he and bass player Aaron Sterling got together and started playing at the Rodair Club in Port Arthur. Aaron lived in France for three years and is very versatile in his genre of music. Drummer Curtis Harrington has been playing music for over 40 years ranging from rock and roll to Cajun music. Fiddle player Travis Benoit started playing the accordion at age 11 and eventually moved over to the fiddle.
