ARIZONA – In battleground Arizona, Republicans are campaigning with no money, organizers who are faking data, and an absent top of the ticket. Here are seven ways that Arizona Republicans are going to lose in seven days:
- Arizona Republicans are broke: It’s not just the Arizona Republican Party being outraised and outspent; Arizona Democrats in competitive House seats in CD-01, CD-06, and CD-02 are raising record-breaking war chests against their Republican incumbents. In the race to secure the U.S. Senate, Ruben Gallego is outrasing Kari Lake 3-1. Even in the state legislature, in the lead-up to the general election, every Democrat in a competitive race had “more money raised than their GOP opponents. “
- Arizona Republicans are vulnerable: Congressman Schweikert “is fighting for his political life” and is seen as “one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the country in part because of his antiabortion stance.” Congressman Crane’s race has quickly shifted from “solid Republican” seat to “likely Republican,” in a race that Daily Kos is calling a “House Upset Brewing.” Arizona Democrats also have “[..] worked early to set the stage to give them the best chance to win [control of the legislature]” as Republicans show “clear signs of weakness.”
- Arizona Republicans are abortion extremists: Arizonans remember that this summer Arizona Republicans like Juan Ciscomani helped pulled us back to an 1864 territorial abortion ban and that they are in lockstep with Donald Trump’s Project 2025, which seeks to ban abortion nationwide. A Fox News poll found that 73% of Arizona voters are in favor of Prop 139, the abortion measure that enshrines the right to abortion in Arizona’s constitution.
- Arizona Republicans are weird: Vulnerable state legislature candidate Vince Leach jokes about Haitian immigrants eating dogs and cats, Kari Lake said she doesn’t trust sunscreen, and Congressman Gosar uses his taxpayer-funded newsletter to write things like “Oh John, I care. Probably too much. That’s why when I’m at the club and the DJ says ‘Put your hands in the air like you just don’t care’ I leave my hands down, because I care. “Arizonans want candidates who are focused on the same issues they care about and Arizona Republicans have proven to voters they can’t deliver.
- Arizona Republicans are election deniers: On every level of the ballot, Arizona Republicans have continued to push Donald Trump’s Big Lie, some were “fake electors,” and others played active roles in the January 6th riot.
- Arizona Republicans are weak on the border: Arizonans know that vulnerable Republicans like Juan Ciscomani and David Schweikert killed the bipartisan border bill because Donald Trump told them to. Juan Ciscomani has consistently left voters wondering, “Who does Ciscomani represent? Tucson? Or Mar-a-Lago?” and hoping “…he gets a backbone and starts to fight for his constituents.” They ask, “Is it too early to vote for a new Representative?“
- Arizona Republicans are liars: From Eli Crane and Abe Hamadeh lying about living in the district and David Schweikert lying about his views on abortion, Arizonans cannot trust Arizona Republicans. It’s why registered Republicans are voting for Democrats.
