From: City of ShawneeTonight is the night! Wandering Vine at the Castle invites you to celebrate the holiday season with a festive holiday dinner for a great cause. Dine at the Vine is all about coming together to support the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund and we couldn't be more excited. Pre-paid reservations are required by calling Wandering Vine at the Castle at 913-379-1300. We still have spots available so don't hesitate to make your reservation and have a Monday night on the town!
The Planning Commission will meet on Monday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. City Hall is located at 11110 Johnson Drive. Anyone is welcome to attend in person or listen online here. Want to know what's on the agenda? Head to cityofshawnee.org/agendas.
Don't wait to enter our Shawnee Rocks the Lights contest! Here's how it works: Set up your holiday lights, snap one photo, and send it in to [email protected] with a location provided. We only accept one photo per entry so be sure to share your best shot!
Entries are open until Thursday, December 15. After that, all entries will be voted on through social media and the winner will be announced on the first day of winter, December 21! The winner will receive a special sign to put in their yard to show everyone that they rocked the lights this holiday season! All entries must be self-nominated.
Every year, Mayor Michelle Distler hosts fundraising efforts to help local organizations of her choice. This year, Mayor Distler chose Shawnee Community Services and Mercy and Truth Medical Missions as recipients! There are several ways you can help out including online donations, the hit Dine at the Vine event at Wandering Vine at the Castle, bluebird box dedication plaques, and purchasing a Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund candle, shirt, holiday card or ornament at the Shawnee Town 1929 Gift Shop. For full information, including details on how to make an in-person donation, visit cityofshawnee.org/mctf!
