Join photographer Milton Arceneaux in this studio workshop, designed to help photographers master the art of lighting for people of color. By focusing on the unique undertones often found in people of color, such as red and yellow, participants will learn how to enhance these hues while maintaining depth, richness, and authenticity.
Join our Visual Arts Director Jaik Faulk in conversation with exhibiting artists Jeffery U Darensbourg and Maaliyah Papillion to discuss AcA's current main gallery exhibition, "Prairie Stories."
Artist Round Up is an opportunity for creatives of all disciplines to come together in a space to meet like-minded creatives who they could collaborate with, talk to, find inspiration from and just generally hang out with.
For our April meetup, artist Sam Wróbel will be showing us the ins and outs of papercutting!
Upcoming Performances
Ghost-Note
AllStars Series, presented by Broussard, David & Moroux
May 1st at 7:30pm
Tickets starting at $45
Ghost-Note is an explosion of sound. Headed by Snarky Puppy’s multi-GRAMMY Award–winning percussion duo of Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth, featuring an expansive roster of next-level musicians — representing members of Prince, Herbie Hancock, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, and more—the band is pushing funk music into the future.
Louis Michot: Rêve du Troubadour
Louisiana Crossroads Series, presented by First Horizon
May 15th at 7:30pm
Tickets starting at $40
Louis Michot is best known as the fiddle player and lead-singer for the Grammy award winning Lost Bayou Ramblers, but his passion for Louisiana French, local folklore, and sustainability are what fuels his career as a musician.
Though Michot has published over 100 songs, he feels that Rêve du Troubadour is his first cohesive collection of writing as these songs tell their stories poetic depth and utilize words peculiar to Louisiana French which seldom appear in musical compositions.
