August Updates from the American Red Cross

Cross Notes

The Red Cross is responding to nearly twice as many large disasters as we did a decade ago to help families and communities struggling with more frequent and intense disasters.

Just this week, Hurricane Debby made landfall in Florida as a high-end category 1 storm, bringing a month’s worth of rainfall, hurricane force winds, flash flooding and tornadoes across the state. As the storm progresses, historic and catastrophic levels of rain are expected in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Disasters like these can bring the darkest day of someone’s life. But the Red Cross is committed to being there with the supplies, shelter and compassion that can make all the difference — and it’s all thanks to caring people like you.

Please, rush an emergency donation today to help families affected by Hurricane Debby.

Just reminding a child to always wear a seat belt or look both ways when crossing the street on their way to school can make a real difference. And when a disaster strikes, the Red Cross will be there with the support to keep children and their families safe and secure — including shelter, a warm meal and a comforting shoulder to lean on after a challenging day.
