From: Applebutter FestSince 1977, the Applebutter Fest has been known for its historical re-enactments, handmade crafts, live music, food, and apple butter. Beginning as a small gathering, our festival has now grown to welcome more than 40,000 fest-goers annually! Sponsored by the Historical Society of Grand Rapids Ohio, our team of volunteers is proud to serve you each year.
Live Music
Live music adds a soundtrack to the visitor experience at the Applebutter Fest. With stages on Mainstreet and the Tow Path, there is no shortage of melody.
Children's Area
Stop by the Children's Area for all-day activities geared toward our youngest Applebutter Fest visitors. In recent years, we've had jugglers, ventriloquists, puppeteers, costumed storytellers, and clowns, who make balloon animals, paint faces, and apply temporary hair color. Seating is provided (chairs, benches, and/or straw bales).
Crafts/Food:
Front Street Juried Crafts
Crafts on Front Street is sponsored by the Historical Society of Grand Rapids Ohio. Thousands of handcrafted items made by local artisans are featured in 100+ booths that span the full length of the downtown area from West Street to Mill Street. This is the perfect place at the perfect time to do some holiday shopping!
Crafts In Pirate Park
Crafts In Pirate Park is sponsored by the Grand Rapids Youth Baseball and Softball League. This "Crafts and Collectibles Show" is one of the largest in Ohio drawing thousands of shoppers.
This event is held on the same day as Applebutter Fest in Pirate Park, which is located on the corner of East 2nd Street and Wapakoneta Road.
Crafts In Labino Park
Sponsored by the Grand Rapids Cub Scout Pack #325.
This "Crafts & Collectibles Show" has something for everyone. Be sure to stop by and check out the bargains! The event is held on the same day as Applebutter Fest in Labino Park, which is located at the intersection of Bridge Street and Third Street adjacent to the Grand Rapids Area Swimming Pool.
Official Food Booths
There are many, many choices for food and treats at the Applebutter Fest starting early in the morning and continuing throughout the day.
In the downtown area, there are local, not-for-profit organizations that sponsor food booths at Applebutter Fest as a fundraiser. Each of these booths should display a large red apple sign that declares it as an "Official ABF Food Booth".
