IT'S BACK (and bigger than ever): The Tower Show

Dozens of artists will transform an 11”x17” image of a water tower using their medium of choice. The final works will be part of a group exhibition at Gowanus Wharf and all the pieces will be available for purchase!

If you've participated in The Tower Show before, you know that Towers are on a first come, first served basis, and a lot of artists who want to participate aren't able to. NOT THIS YEAR! Our exhibition space at Gowanus Wharf can accommodate everyone who wants in--the more the merrier!

Here's what you need to know:

- Tower templates are $20/each. This helps us cover the cost of printing and framing them, but then all sale proceeds go directly to you!

- You can buy a Tower template at Gowanus Wharf (240 3rd Ave) during Tides open hours (Saturdays and Sundays 1-6) or any time at Artist&Craftsman Park Slope (302 2nd St.)

- They're due back by March 25th, 2025! You can either to Artist&Craftsman when you're done, or come to Gowanus Wharf on March 25th from 3-8 PM.

- The opening reception will be Friday, March 28th, from 7-9 PM at Gowanus Wharf (240 3rd Ave)!

- All Towers are priced at $200!

- There aren't many rules, but: you have to use the template you get from us, and the final piece has to fit in an 11x17 frame. Your piece can be three dimensional, but it can't overlap the edges of the template!

On View: Tides at Gowanus Wharf

Open hours: Saturdays and Sundays, 1-6 PM

Location: 240 3rd Ave

In collaboration with Gowanus Wharf, this exhibition showcases works by local artists David Barthold, Gil Kuno, Jill Inbar, Jos Prol, and Miska Draskoczy. this exhibition draws on the neighborhood’s industrial heritage. The artwork displayed is reflective of Gowanus, often using materials found in the neighborhood and even driftwood found in the canal.

We apologize for having to cancel open hours last weekend!

Arts Gowanus at The Affordable Art Fair: Gil Kuno

Join us March 19 - 23 at The Metropolitan Pavilion (125 W 18th St.)

Affordable Art Fair New York will return to the Metropolitan Pavilion in March 2025, showcasing original contemporary artworks ranging between $100 to $12,000. Welcoming local, national and international exhibitors, our spectacular Spring edition will be sure to put a spring in your step!

This fair, Arts Gowanus's booth will feature work by Gil Kuno! Gil Kuno is a Tokyo- and New York-based artist who challenges conventional thinking through audiovisual experimentation and the reimagining of everyday experiences. His work playfully disrupts common perceptions of reality, embracing themes of exaggerated perception and altered states. A key element of his art involves repurposing 1960s flip-dot display technology-traditionally used for bus destination signs-to create dynamic animations.

Save The Date: The Arts Gowanus Patterns Gala is May 16th!
