Arts Mid-Hudson Announces its 8th Annual 'Poets Respond to Art' Exhibition from March 20 - April 22, 2025

Poughkeepsie, NY: Arts Mid-Hudson is pleased to announce the eighth annual Poets Respond to Art, an exhibition celebrating the intersection of poetry and visual art. Featuring 18 poets and 18 visual artists, this showcase explores the profound dialogue between literary and visual expression. The exhibition will be on view from March 20 through April 22, 2025, at Arts Mid-Hudson’s Gallery in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Each poet has selected a visual artwork and crafted a poem in response, fostering an engaging and thought-provoking exchange between two artistic disciplines.

Opening Reception

The community is invited to attend the Opening Reception on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Arts Mid-Hudson’s Gallery, 696 Dutchess Turnpike, Ste F, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the participating poets and visual artists, explore the exhibition, and experience the interplay between poetry and visual art. This event is free and open to the public.

The exhibition will conclude with an Artist Talk & Closing Reception on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Arts Mid-Hudson’s Gallery. This special event will offer insights from participating poets and artists about their creative processes and the inspirations behind their work. The discussion will provide a deeper understanding of the connections between poetry and visual art. This event is free and open to the public.
