Campout In The Parks
The Wallace Lake Family Campout is back on June 17-18! Bring your tent and experience camping, fishing, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, and s’mores around the fire!
New Boat Slips Along The Cuyahoga River
New this boating season, Cleveland Metroparks opened the first public boat slips along the Cuyahoga River in the City of Cleveland. Located in Rivergate Park and Heritage Park, the slips offer new opportunities to connect to the waterfront, trails and nearby entertainment. Slips are reservable on a first-come first-served basis, and can be paid for on-site on an hourly basis using the ParkMobile app.
ACACIA Shelter Now Open
The new Acacia Shelter, located off Cedar Road between Richmond Rd and I-271, is now open for rentals. With more than 75 rental facilities across the Emerald Necklace, Cleveland Metroparks has a venue to fit for any event.
Upcoming Nature Programs
Thurs., June 8:
- Join us for an Afternoon Exploration Hike in Mill Stream Run Reservation and search for wildlife that lives along the Rocky River. Free.
- Try-it: Stand Up Paddleboarding at Hinckley Reservation where you can learn tips and tricks for how to stand-up on a paddleboard! (Also offered Thur., June 15) $5, registration required.
Fri., June 9:
- Come on a Morning Bird Hike at Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve, where we will search for unique species of birds spending time near Lake Erie! Free.
- Come on a twilight firefly safari at Bradley Woods Fireflies in Bradley Woods Reservation. During this event, you’ll identify and collect data for the Firefly Watch project! Free.
- Join us for a Mushroom Hike through North Chagrin Reservation where we’ll discover summertime mushrooms and local fungi. Free.
Sat., June 10:
- Come to Mad Science: Wacky Weather at West Creek Reservation and create your own weather instruments and learn how wind, rain, and more shape our Earth. $15, registration required.
- Join in on a Voyageur Canoe Paddle at Hinckley Reservation, where you’ll sing and hear tales from characters from long ago on a historic adventure! $5, registration required.
Sun., June 11:
- Join in on Family Fun: Walk ‘N’ Chalk at North Chagrin Reservation where we’ll start with a hike and finish with some creative sidewalk chalk of your favorite sightings! Free.
Mon., June 12:
- Come to Turtle Traversal at Rocky River Reservation and get a look at how turtles move through the landscape. Free.
Wed., June 14:
- It’s time to hunt for some Backyard Bugs at the West Creek Reservation and see what insects are crawling or swimming in your backyard! Free.
