PHOENIX, AZ - With less than one week until Election Day, Arizona voters are decisively rejecting Proposition 140, a measure that would bring a California-style ranked-choice voting system and jungle primaries to the state.
A recent Data Orbital poll reveals that support for Prop 140 has dwindled to only 42.2%, and of the respondents who have already voted, support was only at 38.4%. This signals that AZGOP’s full-scale campaign to oppose this proposal is having a significant impact. The AZGOP has dedicated extensive resources to ensure voters understand the dangerous implications of Prop 140, and it’s clear these efforts are paying off.
The AZGOP has sent over 500,000 mail pieces statewide, delivering critical information about the risks of Prop 140 directly to Arizona households. These mailers are designed to educate voters on the measure’s potential to introduce chaos and confusion into our state’s election process.
Our digital efforts have generated more than 1.4 million impressions through two ads across digital and OTT (over-the-top) platforms. These ads have reached voters on social media and streaming services, exposing the dangers of Prop 140 and mobilizing Arizonans to protect our elections.
AZGOP Chair Gina Swoboda issued the following statement:
“We’re exposing Prop 140 for what it is - a radical overhaul Arizonans simply don’t want. These polling numbers show our efforts are working. Arizonans are rejecting this dangerous proposal, and they’re making it clear: we won’t allow out-of-state interests to hijack our elections.”
The AZGOP is confident that voters will decisively reject Prop 140 on Election Day.
