Subtitle: Intimate and small, but packed with handmade and charitable artists
Tinley Park, IL – Shake off the winter blues and indulge in some retail therapy at Flipside Brewing. Located at 7144 183rd St. in Tinley Park, this cozy yet vibrant event brings together craft beer, delicious smash burgers, and a curated artisan market organized by the Streetz Artz Alliance.
“Come cure your winter blues, shop small, enjoy craft beer, and check out the smash burgers,” says John E. Streetz, head of the Streetz Artz Alliance and curator of the event. “We have Alliance favorites returning to the brewery, including Adara Selene Creations, DK Custom Woodwork Co., Gigawatt Coffee, Libby McArthur Art, Masterclass Savory Sweet Foods, and Ten Cups Tarot.”
Streetz also highlights the addition of new artists this year, including Artisanal Microgreens, JAM Foods & Services, With Love Products, and Wolf Den Gaming.
Among the 13 talented artists participating, several contribute to charitable causes. Drew Katchmar, owner of DK Custom Woodwork Co., shares his mission: “We are passionate about supporting developmentally disabled individuals, those struggling with mental illness and PTSD, people battling addiction, and at-risk youth.” Katchmar donates to both Hearthaven H2O and Restoration Ministries.
Other artists at the event support causes such as the Ekukhanyeni Relief Project, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, various gun legislation organizations, and Pride organizations.
The Flipside Bazaar: Beers, Burgers, and a Bazaar offers a diverse selection of items, including home décor, local art, jewelry, self-care products, and one-of-a-kind handcrafted goods. Flipside Brewing will have a variety of drinks on tap, including their signature Mr. Mulligan’s Irish Red and Shebeen Nitro Irish Stout, perfect for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day season. “Mr. Mulligan’s is also available in cans to-go,” notes Erik Pizer, owner of Flipside Brewing. In addition, the brewery features 10-12 beers on tap, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic options.
The Burger of the Month: Olive You Burger
For food lovers, Flipside’s February special is the Olive You Burger—featuring two smash patties, white cheddar, olive mayo spread, and lettuce. Whether you’re missing football season or looking for an excuse to extend Valentine’s Day celebrations, this burger is a must-try.
Spotlight on New Vendors
A fresh face at this year’s event is Nickolas S. Eckmayer, founder of Artisanal Microgreens. “I grow delicious and nutritious microgreens from my indoor garden. Microgreens are early-stage plants that are more mature than sprouts but packed with nutrients,” explains Eckmayer. His offerings will include speckled pea, broccoli, mixed salad, and radish microgreens.
Also new to the lineup is With Love Products, founded by Heidi O’Hanley, a local from Tinley Park. “I create handmade goat milk and shea butter soaps. I believe sound vibrations can enhance products, so I use vibrational sounds of love to help heal and nourish your skin,” says O’Hanley. “Using natural soap base products and essential oils is important for my own health, and I hope they can help you too.”
The organizers invite you to enjoy an afternoon of craft beer, delicious smash burgers, and unique handcrafted goods. Whether you need a crocheted creature to guard your collection, a giant cookie to comfort your soul, or a tarot reading to divine your future, this intimate market offers something for everyone.
