Teen Craft: Crochet with Mrs. S
Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2pm-4pm
Learn how to crochet in this fun and easy class taught by our very own Mrs. S! You'll learn crocheting basics as you create a cute octopus plushie to take home. For ages 12-18.        

All Ages Story Time!
Thursday, Aug. 10, 11am
Our summer Story Time sessions are geared towards our youngest library friends, but there will be fun things for older kids to do as well. We'll read, sing, and provide crafts along the way! Registration required.

Introduction to Wood Burning & Carving
Thursday, Aug. 10, 5:30-8pm
This hands-on class led by Steve Berard is an introduction to wood burning for beginners. Participants will learn the steps of wood burning before trying it out on their own. This session will also offer open carving for existing wood carvers (sanding and power carving are prohibited.) Steve is a member of the New England Wood Carvers (NEWC), a group dedicated to keeping this artistry alive and thriving by introducing people to the craft. Registration is required by Aug. 3.
Outside Games

A selection of outside games will be available to use on the Library lawn or Common area every Friday from 10:30am-4:30pm in July and August! No registration necessary, just swing by any time and enjoy.

Seed Saving with Master Gardener Gretel Anspach
Saturday, Aug. 12, 11:00am
During this presentation we will talk about the reasons for saving your own seeds and learn some of the basic techniques for ensuring genetic purity. We will include discussions about the home garden plants from which seeds can be easily saved and stored for future use. Register to join us either in the library, or watch online via Zoom. 

Gretel Anspach is a Trustee of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, a Lifetime Master Gardener with the Massachusetts Master Gardener Association, and a recently-retired systems engineer for Raytheon. She won the MMGA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016. Gretel established and maintains a 20,000 square foot food production garden that has provided fresh produce to the Marlboro and Maynard Food Pantries for the last ten years. Her primary interest and focus is always in the science behind horticulture.

Writer’s Group

This is a group for aspiring writers, led by Susan Roney O'Brien, MFA. All are welcome, no matter your writing level! Join this group as they improve their writing together. You can either join us in person at the library or virtually.

Evening Book Club Online

Join us online for a discussion of our monthly book club book. For August we will read The Chaos Machine by Max Fisher. Copies are available at the library or on Libby.

Teen Bubble Program
Friday, Aug. 18, 1-2pm
These aren't the bubbles you played with as a little kid! We'll learn about chemical reactions while we make edible water bottles, "unpoppaple" bubbles, and dry ice bubbles on the library lawn. For ages 12-18; Registration required.

Cricut Craft: Design a Mug
Saturday, Aug. 19, 1-2pm
Using the library's Cricut, participants will get a basic introduction to this electronic cutting and drawing machine. Choose one from several designs provided to cut from the Cricut, and apply your design to a mug. Ages 16 and up; registration required.
