Story Time: Fabulous 4s & 5s
Wednesday, Feb. 1, 11-12pm

Join us for this hands-on Story Time program geared for you curious and tenacious four to five year olds. Children will participate in different activities that provide room to explore concepts presented in the stories through STEM activities. Registration required; space is limited. If you prefer to join us online, you can sign up for the Zoom link upon registration. 

Afternoon Book Club Hybrid
Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1-2pm

Join us for a discussion of our monthly book club book. February we will read Dawn by Octavia E. Butler, join us either online of in person. Copies are available at the library or on Overdrive.

Drop-In Tech Help
Wednesday, Feb. 1, 3- 6pm

Drop by the library for all of your basic technology needs! Our librarians will help you learn about using your computers, smart phones, tablets, or other devices. If you need assistance using library apps, searching the library databases, or creating any of your own accounts, we're here for you! Stop by any time between 3-6pm. For more advanced tech help, consider signing up for an appointment on our website so we can best serve your needs.

Story Time: Bouncing Babies

Infants and toddlers aged 0-23 months are invited to this musical program specially designed to engage the tiniest library users while developing early literacy skills. Registration required; space is limited. If you prefer to join us online, you can sign up for the Zoom link upon registration. 

Heart Pillow Kids Craft
Thursday, Feb. 2, 4-4:45pm

Let's show the love! We'll tie two pieces of fleece together to create a heart pillow. This craft is for ages 4 and up, but children must be able to tie a basic knot or have help from a guardian to complete the craft.  

Adult Craft: Valentine’s Day Crushed Can
Thursday, Feb. 2, 6-7:30pm

Do you want to make something fun and unique for your family or friends this Valentine's Day? Join us for this special class led by Sincerely, Michele, as she teaches us how to create a crushed can you can fill with sweets as well as a matching card. Ages 15 and up; registration required.

Take & Make Craft Kits
Saturday, Feb. 4, 10am-5pm

New activity kits for kids are available all day Saturday while supplies last!

Teen Take & Make: Bath Bombs
Tuesday, Feb. 7, 10am-5pm

This kit supplies you with all the materials to make a heart shaped bath bomb for Valentine's Day! Ages 12-18; registration required.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Myths & Miracles of Victorian Medicine
Wednesday, Feb. 8, 7-8pm

Prepare to gasp, cringe, and chuckle, as you discover the horrifying practices and life-saving discoveries that characterize turn of the century medicine. While doctors were taking x-rays, mothers were bringing ailing children to factories and advising them to “breathe in the gases” to feel better! Fictional Victorian lady Miss Myrtle Mills will reveal practices that defy today’s medical sense, as well as discoveries that helped form the foundation of 21st century medicine. Janet Parnes, of Historical Portrayals by Lady J, will portray Miss Mills.

Author Talk: Bob Young’s "Walk to Wachusett with Thoreau"
Thursday, Feb. 9, 6-7pm

Join us for this hybrid presentation by local researcher and author Bob Young, who reenacted Henry David Thoreau's walk to Mount Wachusett from Concord in 1842. Consisting of a three-day excursion through the towns of Concord, Acton, Stow, Bolton, Lancaster, Sterling, West Sterling, East Princeton, and Princeton, Bob's walk is believed to be the first complete recorded re-enactment of Thoreau’s journey. The presentation will provide historical background information followed by a series of pictures and explanations of what he found and learned along Thoreau’s route.
