The Brentwood Summer Concert Series!

Brentwood Arts Exchange is proud to partner with The Town of Brentwood to present The Summer Concert Series, featuring three individual performances every second Saturday of July, August and September.

The first chapter of this series is Zedicus, a DMV based group that has been active in the area and internationally for over 20 years. Known for their mesmerizing rhythms and soul-stirring melodies, they defy traditional boundaries, crafting an “irresistible sonic tapestry” from a combination of reggae, rock, alternative and world music influences.

Zedicus performs in Brentwood on Saturday, July 13, from 6-8 PM. This event is FREE and open to the public. Location: 4300 39th Pl, Brentwood, MD 2072

Lights Out 2024 A Group Video Exhibition - The Genesis Project: Volume 5 - ARTIST TALKS

Please join Brentwood Arts Exchange as we welcome the artists from the main gallery and lab gallery exhibitions to speak about their work and experiences! 

Lights Out 2024: A Group Video Exhibition is on display in the Main Gallery from June 3- August 17, 2024. Featuring artists Liliane Blom, Donavon BrutusErick BuendiaSydney BuffalowRieko ChaceyAgustin Rosa and Jason Robinson.

The Genesis Project: Volume 5 artists Jodi Ferrier and Laurel Lukaszewski complete the final volume of this exciting 10-artist collaboration!

The Genesis Project is an ambitious, 8-month collaborative wall exhibition, featuring a group of 10 artists selected by the visual art stakeholders in the Gateway Arts District, including Portico Gallery, Washington Glass School, Otis Street Art Project, Behind the Tracks Studios and the Gateway Arts Center.

Each "Volume" allowed participating artists to use the previous shows as inspiration to work over, or alongside the original artworks. The end result is an all-encompassing mural that defines the creative brilliance that lives and breathes in the Gateway Arts District.

Karen Werth

Zen and Chaos: Explore the world of fused glass with Karen Werth’s Zen and Chaos exhibit at Brentwood Arts Exchange from June 3 to August 17, 2024, featuring a stunning array of color, light, shadow and patterns.

Karen Werth is an artist and owner of Werthwhile Studio in Washington, DC, who creates fused glass pieces inspired by color, patterns and shapes found in nature. Her creative process involves manual cutting of glass sheets, rods and stringer prior to multiple sessions in the kiln, utilizing different firing techniques and schedules to create a final piece that relies on both machinery and hand finishing.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in jewelry design and metalsmithing, Werth has extensive experience in exhibit design, production and management of small and large scale exhibitions for cultural institutions around the country. Her work can be found in public and private collections throughout the US and Europe.
