From: Broward County Public SchoolsThe School Board of Broward County, Florida has launched a national search for a permanent superintendent and hired an independent search firm, McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C, to coordinate the search. The School Board is seeking a highly qualified visionary superintendent to lead the District and serve as a student-oriented, transformational leader, who will successfullyaddress concerns and issues communicated by the entire school community and residents throughout the county.
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is the second-largest schoolsystem in the state and the sixth largest in the country, with over 250,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The District’s vision is to educate today’s students to succeed in tomorrow’s world. BCPS is committed to educating all students to reach their highest potential.
The successful candidate must have the background, skills and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership, including being goal oriented, data driven and able to instill a culture of accountability throughout the District. Experience as a superintendent or a central office leadership position in a diverse, suburban/urban similarly sized district is desired. A master’s degree is required, and doctorate degree preferred, along with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership position in education or a large organization. Bilingual skills are also a plus.
Once applications are reviewed and preliminary interviews are conducted by McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., the top candidates will be presented to the School Board for consideration.
