From: UAlbany Performing Arts CenterAlbany, NY - The NYS Writers Institute and the UAlbany Performing Arts Center, both based at the University at Albany, have announced another cast change for the performance of Selected Shorts on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 7:30pm at the UAlbany Performing Arts Center on the uptown University at Albany campus located at 1400 Washington Avenue in Albany.
Joanna Gleason (Broadway’s Into the Woods, The Affair, The West Wing) and veteran character actor Dylan Baker (Happiness, The Good Wife, The Americans) will be joined by Colby Minifie (The Boys, Fear the Walking Dead, Jessica Jones) for an evening of readings of short fiction by emerging and established writers about life’s unexpected twists and turns. Minifie is replacing Krystina Alabado (Broadway’s Mean Girls, Hazbin Hotel, Pantheon) and will read “Somebody’s Daughter” by Amy Silverberg. Other stories on the program include “The Luck of Others” by Ben Philippe, “The Acorn” by Elizabeth Stix, and “A Sacrifice” by Simon Van Booy.
Minifie usually plays high-strung women on TV: The Boys, Fear the Walking Dead, Jessica Jones, and the upcoming Gen V. But she can also be seen in films such as Charlie Kaufman’s I’m Thinking Of Ending Things, Joseph Sackett’s Homebody, Richard Levine’s Submission, and Pilcher & Mohler’s Radium Girls, among others. Her theater credits include the Broadway revivals of Six Degrees Of Separation, Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and The Pillowman. Off-Broadway favorites include Epiphany, Punk Rock, Close Up Space, Landscape of the Body, and The Dark at the Top of the Stairs.
