Lake Worth, Fla., Nov. 11, 2022 – Palm Beach State College has been ranked among America’s Top Online Colleges in 2023 by Newsweek and the global data firm Statista.

“This ranking recognizes the talents and hard work of PBSC’s faculty in delivering teaching and learning excellence, and the expertise and commitment of team members across the institution who support students in every aspect of their academic journey,” said PBSC President Ava L. Parker, J.D.

PBSC ranked no. 70 out of 200 colleges. Newsweek and Statista evaluated 200 colleges and universities by surveying 9,000 online learners and conducting research on each of the institutions. Respondents shared their experiences by rating the institutions on user reviews and institutional data. This is PBSC’s first time on the list, which is in its second year.

“The Newsweek and Statista designation is especially meaningful since it reflects the positive experiences of students who have benefited from the innovative work of our faculty and PBSC Online staff,” said Roger Yohe, vice president of Academic Innovation and Strategy.

The criteria to assess the experiences of those surveyed included accessibility, support and service, cost of program, perceived organizational reputation, (expected) success and practical relevance of course contents, overall satisfaction, and recommendation. Institutional indicators factored in the rankings were based on graduation statistics, re-enrollment rate, students per instructor, and expenditures per student.

Established as Florida’s first state public community college in 1933, Palm Beach State College provides flexible online certificate and degree pathways through PBSC Online, along with flexible onsite and remote options across five campuses.
