Democrat,

As we stand on the cusp of a transformative election season, the Harris-Walz ticket offers a renewed sense of hope and a vision for progress. Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz bring a dynamic blend of experience and innovation to the table. Their partnership is a powerful statement of what is possible when we unite under a shared agenda of equity, justice, and forward-thinking governance.

Governor Walz’s track record of tackling critical issues like health care and education, offers a compelling vision for a stronger, more inclusive America. This is a chance for us to rally behind a ticket that is not afraid to fight back against Trump and J.D Vance’s lies and false claims. This ticket is in touch and knows what the American people’s everyday lives look like and what we need. Not what else needs to be taken away from us. Let’s harness this excitement and channel it into action, folks.

Gov. Murphy endorsed Tim Walz, a highly accomplished two-term Governor and former Congressman. Gov. Walz is also a dedicated husband and father, a 24-year veteran of the National Guard, and has experience as a high school social studies teacher and football coach. I am thrilled to see New Jersey support a Harris-Walz presidential ticket.

Sixty years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson enacted one of the most pivotal pieces of civil rights legislation in history, the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This landmark law banned discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. That day, our Nation inched closer to our guiding principle: the belief that all people are created equal and deserve equal treatment throughout their lives. While we have not yet fully realized this, the Democratic party has never turned away from it. On this anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to this enduring principle.

Let us recommit ourselves to advancing the work started by the Civil Rights Act sixty years ago. It remains the Democratic Party’s ongoing mission to build a democracy where every American is treated with dignity and given an equal chance to pursue their dreams. We must persist in moving forward together, and choosing democracy.

“We can and must protect and expand our civil rights in America. We can and must prevent the abuse of presidential power and restore faith in the Supreme Court. We can and must strengthen the guardrails of democracy” said President Joe Biden.
