From: Charlotte Acoustic FestivalThe Charlotte Chamber of Commerce is presenting the very first Charlotte Acoustic Festival on Sunday, September 10, at the outdoor Congregational Commons from 4 pm until 8 pm. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend. This will be the newest of the 29 festivals that Charlotte hosts in 2023.
Performing groups include Charlotte Acoustic Project from 4 to 6 pm, and Acoustic Liberty from 6 pm until close.
This festival will start independently just as Charlotte Frontier Days is wrapping up its annual celebration on the same Sunday, September 10.
The band will take the stage at Congregational Commons, 128 South Bostwick Street, in downtown Charlotte. This musical event is the last performance in the summer series hosted and sponsored by First Congregational Church at Congregational Commons. Other sponsors include Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, Eric Rogers, LLC, Sidestreets Deli, Whistlepig BBQ and School and Municipal Advisory Services, PC.
Acoustic Liberty is a very popular group in the area and has been performing for 6 years offering a unique blend of folk music including country, blues, Americana, soft rock, Celtic and Reggae. Their acoustic music will be light and include fun tunes you have heard your entire life. Guitarist Ron McKeever is well known, is considered one of the top guitarists and multi-instrumentalists in the area and is a member of the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame. Other band members include LeRoy Harvey, Diane Pfost, and Valerie Clark.
Charlotte Acoustic Project is a new band which started this past winter by hosting Acoustic Saturdays at Evelyn Bay in Charlotte. This 3-piece group performs a variety of classic tunes from the fifties to today, Celtic, Great American Songbook, and even Motown, all with a fresh new acoustic treatment using new and interesting arrangements. Performers in Charlotte Acoustic Project include Kat Jones, Don Sovey, and Ron McKeever.
Acoustic music could be described as unplugged using instruments whose sound is not electronically enhanced. National entertainers have used this term to describe their pure sound not usually including electric instruments.
Gourmet Grilled Cheese and Homemade Tomato Soup will be available for purchase at The Commons during this event. Bring your lawn chair and a friend to enjoy the afternoon and evening on September 10. The concert will be held inside in the event of inclement weather.
