From: City Of BeaumontCity Council General Election Adoption and Reorganization
The Beaumont City Council held a Special Meeting on Tuesday, December 7, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. The Special Meeting was set to adopt a resolution affirming the results of the November 8, 2022, General Election.
During the meeting Police Chief Sean Thuilliez swore in newly elected City Councilmember Jessica Voigt, City Treasurer AJ Patel and City Clerk Elaine Morgan. Also, part of the swearing in included Councilmembers Lloyd White and Mike Lara, who were re-elected to their City Council seats.
Also, during the meeting the City Council thanked outgoing Councilmember Rey Santos for his service to the City and residents of Beaumont. Councilmember Santos was elected in 2018 and chose not to run for re-election in 2022. The City Council also recognized Baron Ginnetti, City Treasurer and Steven Mehlman, City Clerk for their service to the community during their terms.
As part of the special meeting the new City Council were seated and then voted to ratify the reorganization of the City Council leadership, appointing Julio Martinez as Mayor and David Fenn as Mayor Pro Tem. The reorganization was completed in accordance with the Beaumont Municipal Code section 2.04.090, Nomination of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore.
