From: City of ChandlerCHANDLER, Ariz. – The City of Chandler is now accepting online applications for their annual Volunteer Recognition Awards program. This program is the City’s opportunity to recognize and honor individuals for their selfless contributions to our community and local organizations. Nominations are available online at chandleraz.gov/VolunteerAwards and must be submitted no later than Wednesday, March 1.
Faith-based groups, nonprofits, schools, businesses or any organization with volunteers are encouraged to nominate individuals for one of eight recognition awards for outstanding community service during the 2022 calendar year. The award categories are:
Innovation Award – This nominee brings creative and unique solutions to the role.
Longevity Award – This nominee has volunteered for an organization for many years and they provide a commitment and dedication to their service that is awe-inspiring.
Makes It Happen Award – This nominee volunteers for numerous organizations, with the goal of contributing anywhere and everywhere, in any way they can.
Multitasking Maestro Award – This nominee is someone who takes on a diverse array of multiple assignments, jobs or objectives at the same time and can juggle them effectively, while accomplishing all of them successfully.
Strong Arms Award – This nominee is not afraid to take on any task no matter how “down-and-dirty” it may be. This nominee also may be called the “jack-of-all-trades” in an organization.
Sunbeam Award – This nominee is the most cheerful person in the place. They have the best personality, attitude, always smiling and their mere appearance brightens the area around them.
Working Together Award – This award category is for a group (in any organization) who completed a volunteer project in Chandler.
Youth Award – This nominee is strictly for youth, 17 years of age or younger. This nominee can be dedicated, positive, and hardworking or somehow stand out among others.
All volunteers nominated with more than 1,000 hours of service in 2022 will receive a lapel pin and certificate from Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke. In addition, volunteers with more than 100 hours also will receive a certificate from the Mayor. Submit your volunteer names and number of hours to CC Cantabrana via email at [email protected] no later than Wednesday, March 1.
Please note that online award submissions are limited to 500 words or less. Specific guidelines also are available online with the nomination form. The selected honorees will be notified in mid-March and an awards recognition event will be held in early April.
