Celebrate the holiday season in Evanston
Get in the holiday spirit with events and celebrations for the whole family!
Support local businesses: Get a jump start on your holiday shopping with great deals and unique gifts from local Evanston businesses on Small Business Saturday this Sat., Nov. 26! Check out promotions in Downtown Evanston, on the Main-Dempster Mile and on Central Street.
Flip the switch: Bring your families downtown to watch the annual tree lighting with Mayor Biss, Santa and other special visitors on Sat., Dec. 3 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy holiday performances by Evanston Children's Choir, NU Purple Haze and a brass quintet.
A very historical holiday: Join the Evanston History Center for their Holiday Open House on Sun., Dec. 4, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Dawes House is decked out for the holidays so stop by to take a self-guided tour, enjoy holiday music, and more! RSVP to attend.
Sounds of the season: A cherished annual tradition, Rembrandt’s Holiday Baroque returns to Evanston on Sun., Dec. 4 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Alice Millar Chapel at Northwestern University. Enjoy Baroque favorites that will capture the spirit of the season. Purchase tickets today!
Say bye to burned out bulbs
Starting Thurs., Dec. 1, you can drop off holiday string lighting for recycling at the Evanston Ecology Center, Levy Senior Center, and Robert Crown Community Center. Garlands, live greens and wreaths are not accepted.

Give back this holiday season by donating new, unwrapped toys, children's books, and non-perishable staple food items as part of the Mayor's Holiday Food, Book and Toy Drive. The donation drive runs through December 9.
Fifth Ward Campus Community Meeting
Attend an informational meeting on Tues., Dec. 6, at 6 p.m., at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center to share your thoughts on proposed site concepts for District 65’s new 5th Ward school and the future of the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center.

Cases: Evanston reported 101 new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the last seven days, compared to 111 for the week prior. The current seven-day moving average of daily confirmed cases is 14.43.
COVID-19 Community Risk Level: LOW.
