From: City of GoletaWelcome to the Library Reading Corner for August 2023!
A Note from Interim Library Director Diane Satchwell:
Dear Goleta and Santa Ynez Valley Library Users:
Let me introduce myself. I have been appointed as the Interim Library Director. I have already met many people and it is obvious the communities treasure their libraries. I look forward to getting to know the communities and working with all the various stakeholders.
I most recently served as Principal/Owner for Library Solutions, LLC, providing consulting services for staff development, facilitating management teams, strategic planning, and advocating for library services. Prior to this I served as Executive Director of the Southern California Library Cooperative managing five of the nine cooperatives in the State of California. My experience includes decades of work in direct high-level Library operations positions with the Merced County Library System, West Linn Public Library (WLPL) in Oregon, Oakland Public Library, San Diego County Library System, and City of Murrieta Public Library.
My role as Interim Library Director will include a number of different functions, including professional librarian development, print and digital collection development, program and service development, policy and procedure implementation, and special library projects, such as strategic planning.
I want to end on a local note and highlight how our Summer Reading Program has exceeded recent years. The program has come to a close for 2023, and we will be sure to share more detailed stories in the September newsletter. Please be sure to visit our website to see the various programs and services we offer our patrons.
We could not have had such an amazing Summer Reading Program without the generous and continued support of our local community donors and sponsors.
