From: City of Monterey Park
“We believe that it is important for our community to come together to remember and heal,” stated Monterey Park Mayor Henry Lo. Accordingly, the community is invited to join us at Monterey Park City Hall, 320 W. Newmark Ave. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. for a vigil to honor those who have left us and to give strength to those who survived. A memorial honoring the victims and survivors has already been established at the Monterey Park City Hall.
In light of the vigil event, the City Council is canceling a previously scheduled Mayoral Installation/City Council Reorganization Ceremony that was originally planned for Tuesday night.
There are mental health resources available for anyone in the community that needs support. Please visit the Survivors Resource Center that has been established at Monterey Park’s Langley Senior Center located at 400 W. Emerson Ave., Monterey Park, CA 91754 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
For additional information regarding the ongoing investigation, please contact the Los Angeles Sheriff Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
