City of Norwich & M&T Bank Partner to Bring Greater Access to City Taxpayers
The City of Norwich has partnered with Bridgeport based M&T Bank, to provide Norwich residents the option to make tax payments at all three M&T branch locations in Norwich, including:
- 624 West Main Street
- 42 Town Street (inside Stop & Shop)
- 45 Town Street
During the month of January, Taxpayers can present their current Real Estate, Personal Property, or Motor Vehicle Supplemental tax bills at the M&T branch of choice (including the drive-up window), where payment(s) can be processed via cash or check. Delinquent taxes will not be accepted at bank locations and must be paid at the City Hall Tax Office located at 100 Broadway.
Taxpayers do not need to be a M&T Bank customer to make their payment at a branch location. This partnership provides greater access and convenience to taxpayers.
The City also offers other payment options. Payments can be made online at http://norwichct.org/taxes, through the mail and in-person. The fee for credit/debit card payments is 2.65%, but there is a flat fee of $1.50 for ACH/electronic check payments.
The Norwich Tax Office is open from 8:30am – 4:15pm for in-person payments.
