Entry-level Civil Service Exam Application for Firefighter

IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTIPATE IN THIS EXAMINATION, THE ATTACHED EXAMINATION APPLICATION [which includes the Examinee Tie Breaker Questionnaire] MUST BE RETURNED TO THE HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE, NO LATER THAN 5:00 P.M., Friday. December 30, 2022. APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE 143.023; and the City of Port Arthur Civil Service Rules and Regulations Section 9.06 (c) - Applications will only be accepted for the entry-level Firefighter classification from individuals that are certified or enrolled in a certification program approved by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as a Basic Structural Firefighter, or higher; or a Texas Department of State Health Services approved program at the EMT Basic Level, or higher; applicants must hold both certifications at time of hire.

All persons are to bring PHOTOGRAPHIC identification (Driver's License, Student ID. etc.) with them to the testing site. Please report to the examination site at least 30 minutes prior to test time. Proof of certification must be presented on or before test date.
