February 27, 2023
At 5:30pm, a representative from Piper-Sander presented options to replacing aging water lines in the City of Sugar Creek, Mo. The Alderman took all of the advice under advisement without taking a vote or making a decision.
At 6pm, the Mayor began the meeting with a moment of silence for the victims and survivors of Ukraine, Kathy Nelson (sister-in-law of Alderman Ray), and the return of Mr. Casey after shoulder surgery.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Alderman Ray followed by Roll Call which established a quorum.
Scheduled Public Hearing #1 produced no new evidence.
Scheduled Public Hearing #2 produced no new evidence.
Seeing no business from the floor, the Mayor presented 6 ordinances to the Alderman. 5 passed unanimously.
One bill was first read and then held over until
next Council Meeting on 3/13.
#4620 vacates and discontinues a portion of Harris Street Right-of-Way.
#4621 due to issues with zoning, this bill was first read and held over for second reading on 3/13.
#4622 changes zoning on a certain parcel of land.
#4623 approves and authorizes payment for two new water hydrants in the city.
#4624 approves movement of a BP easement to the abandoned rail road tracks.
#4625 approves and accepts a PRELIMINARY FUNDING AGREEMENT by and between the City of Sugar Creek and Star Acquisitions Inc.

CLEAN St. Patrick's DAY JOKES
St. Patrick's Day is Saturday, March 17th this year. Sugar Creek will celebrate with its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 11. From 9:30am to 10am lineup in the lot across from Kross' Lounge. We begin walking at 10am up to the old Police and Fire Station, turn around and walk back to the parking lot. See you then.
