National Days In December
December1
Rosa Parks Day -
On December 1, 1955, after a long Thursday at work, Rosa Parks boarded a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. She took her seat in the ‘colored’ section. As she rode the Cleveland Avenue bus home, the bus began to fill.
The Montgomery city ordinance allowed bus drivers to assign seating. However, it did not permit them to demand passengers give up their seats. Despite this, bus drivers customarily required black passengers to give up their seats to white passengers when public transportation became full.
When the bus driver asked Parks to give up her seat, she refused.
National Eat A Red Apple Day
National Pie Day -
Pie is so delicious we celebrate it twice a year.
The more popular date is January 23rd.
World Aids Awareness Day
Music Bingo
Is Next Week
12/7, 6:30pm
At Mike Onka Hall
Music Bingo is always a blast, but this month is even better.
In the past 11 months, each "BINGO" received a prize from Pam Burnham's prize stash.
This month, YOU bring a wrapped prize.
This month, when someone gets a "BINGO", that winner gets to choose their prize from the mountain of wrapped prizes that YOU brought.
Then we get to play, White Elephant.
The second "BINGO" gets to choose from the mountain of gifts or "steal" the previously opened gift.
Any questions?
Show up Wednesday night, 11/7 with your wrapped package or email Ms. Burnham at: [email protected]
