CLEVELAND METROPARKS WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT

Asian Lantern Festival presented by Meijer kicks-off tomorrow night! This year's festival features all new displays, live performances every hour, culturally-inspired cuisine and more. 

TONIGHT: The Cover Ups take the stage at Edgewater Beach tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. on the next stop of the traveling Summer Concert Series presented by Serpentini Chevrolet!

Pro Tip: consider arriving early, by foot or bike or public transit! 

Look Ahead: there are still spots remaining for the annual Dolly Sods Backpacking Trip, a 5-day backcountry adventure in West Virginia!

If you’re looking to get out on the water this summer, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, pontoon boats and more are available to rent from the Hinckley Lake Boathouse & Store.

It’s not too late to get started on the 2023 Trail Challenge presented by Cigna! The choose-your-adventure program encourages guests to move to better health, discover the wonders of nature, and earn a prize! Whether you like to hike, bike or paddle, there are trails to conquer across all 18 park reservations.

Don’t miss the debut of the Mobile Nature Shop at Edgewater Beach tonight at the Summer Concert Series. The mobile shop will offer your favorite branded Cleveland Metroparks merchandise at special events across the Park District.

Take a Friday Hike to the Falls with us and discover a hidden waterfall in Garfield Park Reservation. Free. 

Learn to identify fireflies and be a citizen scientist at Firefly Watching in Rocky River Reservation. Free.

Sat., July 8: 

Join Cuyahoga Astronomical Association to learn the ins and outs of how to use a telescope at CAA: Telescope Use for Beginners in Rocky River Reservation. Free. 

Join us at Stand Up Paddleboarding: Fundamentals in Hinckley Reservation for a full-day crash course on the water. $75, registration required. 

Sun., July 9: 

Take a musical trip through time with free live music from Funkology at Look About Lodge Summer Concert in South Chagrin Reservation. Free. 

Enjoy a guided yoga class with your young one at Kids Nature Yoga in West Creek Reservation. Ages 2-5 with adult, $8, registration required. 

Tues., July 11: 

Enjoy a special evening event with NASA's Chief Scientist & Senior Climate Advisor, Dr. Katherine "Kate" Calvin at Evening With An Expert in West Creek Reservation. Free, registration required.

Explore what lies beneath the water’s surface at Kids in the Creek in Brecksville Reservation. Free, ages 3-5 with adult.
