Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance has officially awarded Coeur d'Alene Insurance Agency a 2025 Make More Happen Award for its dedicated partnership with Canopy Village, a nonprofit trauma-responsive safe haven that restores trust and hope for children and families facing abuse, neglect, or crisis.
Initially, Coeur d'Alene Insurance Agency and Canopy Village received a $5,000 donation through the Liberty Mutual® and Safeco Insurance® 2025 Make More Happen™ Awards program for its partnership with Canopy Village. After their story was featured on the Make More Happen microsite at https://www.agentgiving.com/coeur-dalene-insurance, the community rallied with over 500 votes and comments—triggering a matching donation and bringing the total to $10,000.
“We understand the challenge of rebuilding after a crisis and how much it helps to have hands-on support,” said Aaron Reed, agency principal of Coeur d'Alene Insurance Agency. “By showing up to get their play space back up and running, or providing essentials throughout the year, we aspire to be a dependable partner for Canopy Village, the young people they serve, and our greater community.”
The agency regularly organizes drives for household supplies, canned food, and clothing, including back-to-back Christmas drives focused on providing for teens’ specific needs. When Canopy Village suffered a basement flood due to frozen pipes in 2024, Coeur d'Alene Insurance stepped in to help clean, organize, and restore the children’s play and arts space—rebuilding shelves and sorting toys so kids could once again enjoy a safe and joyful environment.
With a $10,000 Make More Happen Award, Canopy Village can expand its impact by offering new and improved summer programming to engage at-risk youth. The award would improve entrance accessibility to its 30 vegetable gardens and greenhouse, where youth can take part in a community garden club. Additionally, funds would support a summer camp mentoring program, providing emotional regulation groups, communication skills, and healthy relationship lessons through their Family Support Center.
“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Amy Faucheux, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. “Coeur d'Alene Insurance Agency’s commitment to Canopy Village is a powerful example of how local businesses can help drive meaningful change.”
Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.
