From: Tibbits Opera Foundation and Arts CouncilColdwater Township Sunrise Rotary Becomes Event Sponsor for “Cultural Jubilee”
COLDWATER – Organizers of the Cultural Jubilee: A Gathering of Neighbors to be held Saturday, May 18 announced Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club has become the first major sponsor for the event.
Sunrise Rotary was established in 1986 and was the first Rotary Club in Branch County to admit women. It has been involved in community support through the efforts of its members and its Foundation, supporting projects large and small, including Rotary Park, the Branch County Animal Shelter, the Soccer fields, the Naomi Davis Shelter House, and the Lillian Creal Child Advocacy Center, to name a few. For more than 100 years, Rotary International, and its affiliated local clubs, has united leaders who are committed to using their expertise to improve communities all around the world making them a natural to support this multi-cultural event.
According to Club President Joe Hughes, “Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary is excited about the Jubilee and what it will do for our community. We are committed to treating everyone in our community with dignity, respect, allowing everyone’s voice to be heard, and providing equitable opportunities for fellowship, service, and leadership. Diverse communities grow stronger and more vibrant as time goes on.”
The Cultural Jubilee celebrates the many cultural identities and traditions that thrive in our city and our county. It will be held in downtown Coldwater in Tibbits Plaza and South Hanchett Street from 10 am – 4 pm. Launching from the Cultivating Community Celebration in 2022, the family-friendly event will include displays, exhibits and activities as well as a market area, a stage for entertainment, and an area for presentations and conversations.

Organizers are also seeking exhibits, activities, food and vendors to provide authentic representations of the cultures in Coldwater and Branch County.
